Laurie Hernandez Crowned Winner 'Dancing With The Stars' Season 23

The latest episode of "Dancing with the Stars" finally concluded as the ABC show announces its new title holders. Watch the appearance below!

But as many have predicted, Laurie and Val came out as the winners of "DWTS" season 23.

Indycar Racer, James Hinchcliffe and his partner Sharna Burgess were runner-ups while former NFL footballer, Calvin Johnson Jr and Lindsay Arnold placed third.

As far as comparing her Olympic golds to the Mirror Ball trophy, the two wins are not as day-and-night as one might think. We can recall that they received their first ideal score during the Cirque du Soleil Night in Week 4 on consistently persisted as strong contenders.

The other finalists were Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold and James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess. Hernandez earned rave reviews throughout the competition, enough that she will actually be joining the "Dancing with the Stars" tour that will be staged in a few months.

Revealing the winning team wasn't the only exciting moment on the finale, for which DWTS alumni returned.

The youngest contestant to ever win DWTS told sources that her long term goal is to inspire others. "To all the kids out there, you don't have to wait to grow up to change the world", Chmerkovksiy said.

"We went against three of the most fantastic competitors, and I'm glad to call them my family". He last won during Season 20 with actress Rumer Willis. Then the 16-year-old came home and made a decision to appear on the 23rd season of "Dancing with the Stars".

And, of course, Johnson and other gymnasts were quick to congratulate Hernandez on her victory on social media.

"Power, technique - flawless, Bruno Tonioli said, "but above all, you've grown into a great performer as well".
