'The Elder Scrolls Online' Welcomes Player Housing With Homestead Update In February

Player housing is set to arrive for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited in early 2017, with the huge Homestead update presenting players with nearly 40 different unique dwellings to choose from and over 2,000 furniture and decor items to craft, purchase from the Crown Store or from in-game vendors and place within your new home.

Developers will also be giving players a free taste of what home ownership will be like, as they will be able to claim a room at a local inn as soon as they finish the tutorial quest linked to the "Homestead" update. Fortunately, if you were anxious about this, Bethesda has confirmed that homes are completely secure and no one that you haven't approved will be able to access your house.

When the Homestead patch launches, there will be more than 40 houses and 2,000 items available to players.

Details for The Elder Scrolls Online's upcoming housing system have been released.

Michael Passalacqua is a freelance writer for IGN. An example of one that can only be purchased for Crowns is "an ultra-luxurious island retreat". Furnishings can be homemade using your existing crafting skills, purchased with gold via in-game merchants or purchased with crowns. Homes available for gold and Crowns will be unfurnished, while furnished versions will be available for Crowns. These items can be purchased or crafted (crafted items can then be sold to other players), allowing them to be freely placed wherever you want.

Unfurnished homes will be available for purchase with either in-game Gold or with Crowns in the Crown Store.

The homes will be considered an instance, so people won't be rushing to buy up land. Purchasing the Special Edition also grants players access to all of Skyrim's DLC. Achievement Furnishers stock items that can be purchased after completing certain achievements, with the items being themed around those achievements. You can, however, invite other players over to visit.

With the bevy of remasters over the past few years, it was only a matter of time before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim got the remaster treatment.

One of the reasons The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim remains so popular (especially on PC) is because the PC platform has had access to thousands of user-created mods that can drastically change almost every aspect of the game, be it visuals or gameplay.

"You can begin your journey as a proud Tamriel homeowner when Homestead launches on PC/Mac, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in February, 2017".
