First 100 days: What executive orders has Trump signed?

The President then signed several executive orders, including pulling out of the Transatlantic Partnership. Eight years later, the infamous prison is still open in part because Obama did not have the power to close it without the approval of Congress.

This is where executive orders come in.

However, there was some confusion as to what the order actually means.

The order states agencies can "waive, defer, grant exemptions from or delay implementation of any provision or requirement" of Obamacare that imposes a burden "to the maximum extent permitted by law". In short, he is to put into effect laws passed by Congress, but can not make laws on his own. From left are Vice President Mike Pence, the president's wife Melania Trump, their son Barron Trump, and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-Wis. Getting rid of many ofObama's executive orders won't be so easy.

"I think you will see those happen very shortly", White House spokesman Sean Spicer said last week. Instead, we need to look at some specific executive orders issued by Obama for which he had no actual law passed by Congress to enforce. Franklin Roosevelt used an executive order to intern Japanese-Americans during the second world war, and Abraham Lincoln relied on similar powers to issue the Emancipation Proclamation.

Every president with the exception of William Henry Harrison have issued executive orders. There was absolutely no doubt that he'd move with breakneck speed to hit back, and hit back hard, at Obama by going after his executive orders. Since 1789, according to the American Presidency Project, 13,766 executive orders have been issued.

Because there are executive orders that are not only allowable under the Constitution, but are in fact a constitutional duty of the president, it is rather meaningless to judge a president's adherence to the Constitution by the number of executive orders.

"I think (Trump) may sign some executive orders that abolish executive orders of Obama". Trump ordered the federal agencies to give states more power in health care policy. More recently, Obama took executive actions to allow some undocumented immigrants to stay in the country while the prioritizing deportations of others. For instance, in 1948, President Harry Truman issued an executive order to integrate the armed forces.

The most famous executive order belongs to Abraham Lincoln.

What the order means for OH in the short-term is that the state has more control over how it implements the law.
