IOS 10.2 Jailbreak (Beta) Released: How To Download The IPA File

Pangu, the most active hacker group going after Apple's mobile operating system, is reportedly gearing for another round of battle between closed apps and open source. After a minor wait, Luca has fulfilled his promised and the Yalu iOS 10.2 jailbreak source code is now available to download on GitHub. The announcement was rumored to be made after the release of a major iOS 10 update.

While there were earlier speculations about the reasons why Pangu has never released any jailbreak tool, these were falsely reported.

Apple has rolled out another update with the release of iOS 10.2.1.

However, these reports are refuted. At some point, an iOS 10.2 jailbreak will crop up though Pangu may not be the one credited for it. Since the jailbreak does not work on iOS 10.2.1 or iOS 10.3, users who plan to jailbreak now or in the future should save their SHSH blobs as they may allow for downgrading to iOS 10.2 in the future. However, that also means hackers need to go back to the drawing board to try and crack the Apple code once more.

Even though it's been a few months since the launch of the iOS 10, there is still no stable jailbreak for the device. First and foremost: just like the previous jailbreak which Luca released, this is meant for developers only.

In fact, Todesco himself has been sharing a still unperfected jailbreak tool for iOS 10.2. If you own 32-bit devices, you are out of luck.

According to the official security page for iOS 10.2.1, under-the-hood kernel improvements and bugs tied up to the Auto Unlock to an Apple Watch lead the changes to be expected.
