Ellen DeGeneres announced at a taping of her show on Thursday (May 15) that she plans to wed her girlfriend, actress Portia De Rossi, now that the Californian government has overturned a ban on same sex marriage.

California’s Supreme Court’s seven-member panel voted in favor of the ruling on Thursday, arguing that it is discriminatory to restrict marriage based on sexual orientation.
