Actor Eric Bana has jokingly revealed the plot to the next highly-anticipated ‘Star Trek’ movie during an interview on Australian radio –the ’Hulk’ star was very careful not to give too much away.
With a teaser trailer for the new movie debuting at the start of the movie ‘Cloverfield’, Trekkies the world over have started to buzz with reports of storylines and potential characters that will feature in the upcoming JJ Abrams-helmed revamp of the cult television and movie series.
Bana is locked in to play Nero in the new film, which movie website imdb.com describes as "a chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members."
"OK, so here’s what happens," Bana explains Sydney radio presenters Merrick and Rosso.
"You’ve got this ship right? And it’s flying through the air, like, really fast. It lands, and these dudes get out.
"Then there’s these other dudes, some of them have ears, some of them haven’t, and they get into a bit of a fight. There’s heaps of bullets flying and one of the ships has trouble taking off. Then they fix that ship and then there’s a couple of other guys flying around.." Bana pauses before asking, "Is this good? Then this other guy turns up and he’s had some problems with his missus…"
When probed about his character and what he’ll look like in the movie, Bana deflects the question by saying, "You’ll just have to wait and see."
The new ‘Star Trek’ movie opens in cinema’s worldwide in December this year.
