Actress and animal activist Hayden Panettiere has decided to use her celebrity status for a good cause by launching www.panettierecloset.com, a new website that sells items direct from her wardrobe, with all proceeds going to a whale conservation organisation.

The ‘Heroes’ actress launched the website to raise money for the animal ‘Save the Whales Again’ campaign.

 A statement on www.panettierecloset.com describes the new enterprise as an opportunity for consumers to “wear what the celebrities wear at a fraction of the cost – while supporting a worthy cause”. The full statement read:

“Many have hailed Hayden Panettiere for her impeccable taste in fashion.  Now you can wear what the celebrities wear at a fraction of the cost – while supporting a worthy cause!”

This is not the first time Panettiere, 18, has thrown her support behind animal conservation.

Last year, the actress attempted to save a pod of helpless dolphins that had being captured by Japanese fisherman. Unfortunately, a fishing boat intercepted the crew before they could reach the dolphins, with the fishermen using their boat’s propellers to block their way and force the crew to return to the beach.
