Michelle Williams‘ father Larry Williams has released a statement about the tragic death of Heath Ledger on Tuesday (January 22), while authorities continue their investigation into the incident and reveal additional information about the contents of Ledger’s apartment.
An autopsy on the late actor was inconclusive, with toxicology and tissue testing to be carried out in the next to weeks expected to provide the answer as to how Ledger died.
Authorities had reported that a rolled up $20 bill containing an unknown substance was found beside the 28-year-old, however, police testing revealed that the note had no drug residue on it.
As his daughter Michelle touched down in New York, Larry Williams spoke of the loss, saying, "I think Tennyson got it right in the poem when he described someone as having died at a young age, but burning the candles at both ends, and oh what a beautiful flame he made, that was Heath. What a beautiful flame he made and a great talent. My heart goes out to everyone in his family and my family. The saddest thing is his daughter whom he just loved dearly."
Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger were previously engaged, and after their split in 2007, had shared custody of their two-year-old daughter, Matilda.
